Duties
Texas Health Resources
Headquartered in the competitive Dallas-Fort Worth health market, Texas Health Resources (THR) is one of the largest faith-based, non-profit health care delivery systems in the United States. The system serves more than 6.3 million people living in 29 counties in north central Texas. In 2006, more than one in five area residents receiving in-patient care sought treatment at a THR hospital. THR was formed in 1997 to acquire the assets and operations of Fort Worth-based Harris Methodist Health System and Dallas-based Presbyterian Healthcare Resources. Later that year, Arlington Memorial Hospital joined the THR system. With over $2.5 billion in annual revenue, it is the largest fully integrated, nonprofit healthcare organization in Texas and one of the largest systems in the United States. THR has 14 acute-care hospitals (not including joint venture facilities) with approximately 2,600 licensed hospital beds, employs 18,000 people and counts more than 3,800 physicians with active staff privileges at its hospitals. Also included are one home health agency and one extended care hospital.

The Vice President for Medical Education (VPME) has system wide responsibility and authority for oversight of the educational, operational, financial and clinical effectiveness of graduate medical education, continuing medical education and undergraduate medical education for all Texas Health Resources (THR) hospitals. The incumbent must achieve and sustain a high level of action oriented collaboration. Working with entity leadership, the position will oversee entity graduate medical education program directors in the development of curriculum, formulate and implement strategic plans, develop and ensure attainment of goals and operating objectives consistent with the THR strategic plan and graduate and continuing medical educational objectives and policies. The position will also serve as the principal liaison with academic affiliates for the medical education activities and programs of THR.

Texas Health Resources is an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity at all levels of our organization. EOE/AA/M/F/D/V
