Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS, MS or Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Must be licensed as Physical Therapist in the State of Texas
CPR certification for Healthcare Providers or must certify within 90 days hire
Will consider new grads
Preferred Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Problem solving ability
Ability to teach others
Good time management
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
One year previous experience
Outpatient orthopedic and Acute care knowledge
Work Hours/Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday - Friday, rotating weekends
Duties
•Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
•Performs treatment procedures that are within the scope of the professional license.
•Performs/delegates technical procedures appropriately and safely.
•Utilizes a variety of treatment techniques to achieve goals, if necessary.
•Determine patient response to treatment and evaluate progress (reassessment).
•Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self management and assistive equipment.
•Patient safety maintained throughout treatment
•Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
•Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, located in Denton, Texas, is a comprehensive, state-of-the-art facility, serving people across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma with 255 all-private beds. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and has a broad range of services, including Open Heart Surgical Services, The Center For Women, including midwifery and water births, A Comprehensive Cardiac Services Department with Chest Pain Accredited designation, Outpatient Surgical Services, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), 64 slice Computerized Tomography (CT), Bone-Density Screening, Wound Management/Ostomy Center, Hospital-based CareFlite, 28 all-private-bed Emergency Department, Accredited Mammography, Oncology Services, Physical Therapy, Lithotripsy, Sleep Studies and Sports Medicine.
