Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS or MS in Occupational Therapy
Must be licensed as Occupational Therapist in the State of Texas
CPR certification for Healthcare Providers or must certify within 90 days hire
One (1) year rehab experience
Preferred Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Problem solving ability
Ability to teach others
Good time management
Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Work Hours/Schedule: PRN (as needed); rotating schedule, weekends and weekdays
Duties
•Obtain/verify physician order for therapy and validate for appropriateness.
•Review available medical records and obtain pertinent medical history from patient or family.
•Ensure that patient has given informed consent to treatment.
•Evaluate each patient using age and diagnosis appropriate assessment tests and measurements.
•Integrate assessment results to identify functional problems and prioritize care needs with patient and family.
•Sets appropriate measurable, functional goals with time frames to address the identified problems including patient/family goals and preferences.
•Determine plan for care, or appropriate therapeutic intervention to achieve stated goals. Initiate therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition.
•Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs.
