Qualifications:
Texas Health Arlington has a full-time opportunity for an experienced RN, Nursing Supervisor. Qualified candidates will possess the following:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
Two years as staff nurse in appropriate acute care setting.
Current Texas Registered Nurse . CPR certified for all areas within 3 wks of employment.Full time 7p-7a 3rd shift Rotating
Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care. Possesses organizational skills to direct and manage care on a nursing unit for an individual shift.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CCU/ICU or PCU experience preferred

Duties:
Leadership/Clinical Operations
• Facilitate patient nurse assignments and provides coordination of patient care on nursing unit.
• Facilitates patient flow for unit.
• Coordinates the scheduling of staff for unit or designated shift.
• Serves as a role model/mentor for Registered Nurses in the areas of professional development, professional practice, and continuing education.
• Assists Nurse Manager with recruiting and interviewing potential staff.
• Supports retention strategies and objectives.
• Provides continuous constructive feedback and annual performance evaluations to staff. Participates in coaching and counseling, Progressive Disciplinary action process with Nurse Manager and staff.
• Assists Nurse Manager with coordinating Employee Development Plan• Initiates and conducts meetings as appropriate.
• Identifies ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes. Participates in monitoring the budget and productivity as directed by Nurse Manager.
• Seeks opportunities for self-development in leadership.
• Integrates team building strategies and principles of group process in interactions with staff.
• Contribute to creating and maintaining a collaborative work environment.
• Collaborates with all customer groups (staff, physicians, patients, family, external customers) to determine customer expectations.
• Takes appropriate action to remedy satisfaction gaps.

Patient Care/Nursing Process
• Provides safe patient care in coordination with other staff members when unit activity dictates, up to including direct patient care.
• Communication among team members is enhanced through use of partnerships.
• Completes daily assignments addressing patient acuity levels, staffing standards and scope, function and competence level of staff members.
• Adapt care measures to reflect age-specific and development considerations.
Evaluates outcome of patient care, consults with other patient care team members, and adjusts nursing care process as needed to provide appropriate patient care.
• Documents and provides information regarding patient condition and changes.
• Reviews nursing documentation, providing guidance to staff regarding correct and appropriate documentation and regarding patient condition and changes.
• Uses Clinical Practice Model (CPM) philosophy to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is an acute care, full service 369-bed medical center serving Arlington, Texas and the North Texas area. This facility offers a variety of services and specialties, including a 19-bed ICU and 20-bed CCU. Texas Health Arlington Memorial also offers a 53-bed progressive Cardiac Care unit with telemetric monitoring, catherization suites for cardiac care, a Neonatal ICU, an Advance Imaging Center and five hemodialysis beds.
