The position will also have direct operational oversight of all post acute services (52 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, home health department which sees over 50,000 visits annually), acute inpatient and outpatient therapy, epilepsy monitoring unit, and sleep medicine.<br/><br/>The qualified candidate will have the following.<br/><br/>Education: Masters in Business Administration, Health Administration, or equivalent<br/><br/>Experience: Three to five years of progressive service line management experience. Management experience with clinical service line management, with significant and well-documented accomplishments in business development and program growth<br/><br/><b>Duties</b><br/>Develop, implement and manage business plans and marketing plans for service lines. Evaluate programs and initiatives in order to meet volume, financial, quality, and service standards. Also included are one home health agency and one extended care hospital.<br/><br/>Position Summary<br/>The President of the Texas Health Research and Education Institute will have responsibility for establishing the strategic agenda for the institute and guiding the institute forward in its objectives.  The President will promote collaboration across the System in clinical research and graduate and continuing medical education by fostering system wide effort in research and education priorities. System research priorities in Comparative Effectiveness and Outcomes, Health Information Technology and Community Health as well as clinical service line research (e.g. orthopedics, cardiac services, neurosciences, oncology, gastroenterology, and women?s services) that engage at the entity, zone and system level provide the basis for a long term strategic focus.  He/she will provide the platform organization that is attractive to industry sponsors and federal granting agencies for grants that require large patient enrollment and have the ability to effectively foster, manage and support protocols in the system level priorities through biostatistics, epidemiology and grant writing support.  Moreover he/she will develop partnerships to advance research, patient care and education, e.g., universities, other health systems, hospital council, and physician practices. There is an abundance of patient research and teaching material not only in the THR urban hospital entities, but also in the suburban and rural entities.  Historically, opportunities to include them and their respective medical staffs in research activities have not been systematically explored, but will be under the purview of the President.<br/><br/>Education<br/>Candidates must be licensed, board-certified physicians or hold a Ph.D. in a health or scientific related domain. Additional relevant education and training with degrees such as an M.B.A., M.P.H, M.S. will be considered a plus but are not required.<br/><br/>Experience<br/>?An experienced, respected clinical scientist.
